This popped up for me today, haven't read but maybe relevant. Sorry if not.

I also saw that Victoria Park is back open, but - anyone know why cycling is banned?

Only dickheads ride bikes.

I restore old bikes in an old french restaurant.

One silver lining of lockdown for me is my view into people's houses. I have come to realise I am an inveterate nosey-parker. I can barely concentrate on what zoom people are saying as I am so interested in what is around and behind them. It is particularly excellent that most people seem to spend zero time curating how they and their backgrounds appear, even when they are going to be on telly.

It’s a space and safety thing presumably. More people than usual ‘taking the air’ on the paths so riding through creates too much traffic.

Same here. It's particularly interesting doing video hearings with High Court Judges and Masters.
I took quite a long time making sure my background is presentable. As long as I remember to shut the door in my home office, so no-one can see the scenes of devastation behind it.
One problem was getting my webcam at the right angle - perched on top of the monitors it was too high as my monitors are on arms which bring them up to eye-level. I solved that my repurposing a desk lamp I hadn't turned on for over a decade. Before and after:

Or you wash your hands and get on with life ... unless you have other data / information.

That's a newspaper article discussing vague concerns. Link to a study and you have my attention. Sorry, this will definitely comes across as obtuse. I appreciate the contribution. It's just there is so much noise now, and so little merit to the chat ... everyone has to filter.

"Their chosen way of receiving remuneration"
Ironically, this prick has clearly never worked in a restaurant.

I'm sorry.
That desk.
The 2002 HP camera.
Das Keyboard.
If you were on SAGE you'd have to quit.
I'm questioning the merit of everything you've ever posted rn.

Yeah, work in progress. There's a whole lot of USB kit that needs to be binned. There's even an Ipaq 4700 in amongst that rat nest somewhere.

Das Keyboard
Everything else is fair game, but I love that Das Keyboard Mk1. That's a keeper. Soooo noisy. Albeit soooo grimey. Needs a good clean.

To be fair. I would buy das keyboard (if it's as utilitarian, no nonsense as I suspect). I hate wireless mice / keyboards. They always need fresh juice at the least convenient moment.

The 2002 HP camera

Decent quality mechanical keyboard, with no key markings at all. I love it. The clerks hate it (I have a Mk2 at Chambers) as they can't touch-type. Mwahahahahaha.

Duuuuude
What the fuck?!
10/10 for repurposing the lamp stand. That rocks.
But seriously 1/10 for anxiety inducing clutter!
I think I speak for everyone, plz post a photo of that cleared!

I like the stand but I don't understand where you put the camera. In front of the screen so you can't see people properly but at least your eye line is right?

I am learning to detest my Bluetooth keyboard. Regularly it just stops working for a couple seconds while it loses connection to my laptop. Then my laptop goes into high gear. Now I'm not sure if it's going into high gear cause its looking for the Bluetooth or while going into thinking mode forgets the keyboard. Fucking hate it.

the conservatives said they'd roll out a plan for social care, little did we think it would be sending all the ill covid patients to stay with the elderly and infirm in carehomes to kill them off
very callous but i'd expect nothing less from them
A hopeless romantic
