I only changed the handles on all my offensive 80s cabinets and it made a huge difference .

I don't have enough cash.

Unsecured personal loan for the outstanding balance then mortgage it once it is structurally sound?

I just like the idea of 21.5 acres - would make the next lockdown a lot more bearable, if I could go for a run around my own grounds without bumping into anyone.
2/3rds of that is unmanaged woodland, so I am assuming that some work would be required pre-run, but if you've got no where else that you are allowed to go, that's a positive rather than a negative.
But, in this case, looks like you'd need a lot of cash-money, and the will to pull much of the existing building down and start again.

That'd be a big loan! Too rich for my blood.

There's an unmortgageable house not that far from me, on the road from Somersham to Chatteris. The photo doesn't really do the jauntiness of its angles justice. It was sold a few years ago, but very cheaply.

Could you get some sort of development finance, knock it down and start again?
That said from what I've heard your odds of getting money for that sort of stuff it next to none right now.

Do it!
Having all the space to exercise ourselves and the dogs without worrying about social distancing has been awesome.

Right next to Gatwick...

So, judging from the pictures the house alone is 21.5 acres. The grounds must be significantly larger. :)

I'm in Ely. I regularly cycle through Somersham though.

Right next to Gatwick...
Should be nice and quiet then, given all the airlines bailing out of Gatwick.

Beautiful village and area. Very close to my folks and sister (Balcombe).

Gatwick’s runway is going to be used to store cars fairly soon I think.

Nice. Parents have lived there for 30 years now.
Wife’s parent are Willingham and we’re the other side of Cambridge in Royston. -

Not sure where else to post this, so going for here... washing machine looks like its had a bit of a minor washing machine meltdown. Any ideas what may have caused this? Looks like fuse maybe blew and then caught fire?

Oh nice, any links to one? Should a washing machine not go into a regular socket?

Sadly "this is not a property that one can obtain a mortgage for due to structural issues with the house".
