There's an unmortgageable house not that far from me, on the road from Somersham to Chatteris. The photo doesn't really do the jauntiness of its angles justice. It was sold a few years ago, but very cheaply.

Could you get some sort of development finance, knock it down and start again?
That said from what I've heard your odds of getting money for that sort of stuff it next to none right now.
