Nitto B105 is also round-ish but does not have as much reach.

I'm looking at a pair of Nitto M109AA's or Soma Highway Ones.
Does anyone have experience of getting either of these into a Nitto Pearl or a Zenith Gran Compe (Pearl would be first choice, but it might end up being the Gran Compe)?
Mainly asking because I once bought some Highway Ones to go into a Dura Ace 7400 stem and they wouldn't fit!
I'd prefer the Nitto bars I think...

Nitto M109AA
They don't look much different in shape than the M151 and that fits easily on a Pearl.

I have M106 NAS in a Pearl on one bike and Soma HWY ONE in a Pearl on another. Both fit, but the M106 was a fair bit trickier to install IIRC.

Never had a problem with the Soma bars... that’s with Thomson (26mm), 3T and Deda stems (31.8mm with shim)

Bought the Nitto m151f and had a very stressful time getting it through the 3ttt pro chrome even once it was past the bends. I think it’s 25.8 clamp but supposedly fine with 26mm bars, really struggled even with the coin trick, anyone else found this ? Glad I didn’t go with the velo orange Dajia as it wouldn’t of gone through.

Same story with my set of Dajia and an ITM Eclypse. Bends were fine but the clamp struggled a bit. My bars are now scratched on one side of the clamp as a result ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had no problems with the same bars on a pearl stem. Coin trick too.
Your combo works well together visually btw.

I hear you

What clamp size ? Was just freaking myself out that I’d forced something when I shouldn’t have. Cheers , have a new polished headset to replace that atrocity

Got the same stem, those bars look good so I may copy you...
I like those 600 headsets!

Ha they’re not that bad just look really wide on that long head tube and mines particularly beaten up , dust seal broken off too. What did you go for ?

I have a spare Tange Passage, cheap and cheerful. Better options are available of course, but it's not a frame for life kind of affair.

Thanks for this, I ordered the M109AA. They are nice bars and fitted no problem into my Zenith Gran Compe using the 2p and reversed bolt trick.
However. Stupidly I didn't measure them until after I'd fitted them and taped the bars. Just clean forgot in my rush to install them.
Hubjub were quite right and they are 42cm in the drops. They're a nice shape, but they are more like 43cm measured C-T-C at the tops, which is effectively 2cm wider than the rest of my bars! Doh.
I could order them in 40cm but I worry they'll be too narrow, so I'm now thinking I should've just listened to general forum advice and gone with the Highway Ones.
Does anyone have a pair of 42cm Highway Ones they'd mind measuring across the tops to see what the C-2-C is there? My hands spend most of their time on the hoods so this is the measurement which matters for me...

Actually, probably doesn't have to be someone with 42cm Highway Ones, just someone who can tell me if they're 'true to size' on the tops?
-
• #522
I have the 44cm Highway Ones. They measure exactly 44cm from CTC at the hoods
-
• #523
Does it have to be Highway ones specifically or silver? I have a compact handlebars you can have if you like 42cm icon in grey though.

Thanks. I've ordered some 40cm M109AA's, seeing as I know they will be two cm narrower and will therefore fit. Introducing a different set of bars into the mix at this point seemed like a bad idea with hindsight, plus the Nittos are a bit cheaper and I've already wasted too much money on bars!
@HoKe Has to be black but thanks!
Does anyone want a 42cm pair of M109AA's in black!? Excellent condition, one tiny scratch from fitting I think but I reckon I can avoid doing that when I remove them from the stem...

These are the Modolo Venus in 26.0 and 42cm C-C. The specs can be found on their website for the sizing, but they’re really good for being able to reach the brakes when in the drops.
A word of warning though, they are an absolute PITA to get on a stem that doesn’t have an open face. Just out of shot on the overhead photo is a crack I managed to put into the weld on the stem...

The noodle would be bang on actually. If the little sweep back that the tops have is suitable.
