Dodgy photo of my Donohue. Given it a new stem and some comfy bars and will be gearing it down a fair bit to use as a run around. It was my work bike for a fair while and I'm very attached to it, hoping it's ropey looking enough to deter thieves.

needs less flashy chain, less columbus max and less omnonmons to deter thieves

Would thieves really know the difference between a battered, gas pipe steel frame and a battered handmade 853 one with max forks? Agree the chain is maybe a bit flashy though, I'm sure it'll be less obnoxious after a few more rides!

Thanks! I've had it for years, done a lot of miles on it and still absolutely love it. It's the one bike I'll never sell I think.

I'll bet thieves in larger cities tend to educate themselves about bikes based on their clients tastes. Not always including those gathering funds for drugs of course.

What size it that, just out of interest? Looks very similar in size and geo to my Donohue.
Also, where do you tend to leave it locked up for long periods of time........ :-)

It's 53x53. I noticed that they looked pretty similar! Yours is red right? I believe mine was originally as well.

Yeah that's a reasonable assumption. I guess I just have to hope the fixie revival isn't too strong.
-
• #17566
Mine’s 52x54, so according to maths they’re identical :-)
Yeah mines sparkly dark red. Such a nice bike to ride - shame it’s not getting on the track at all at the moment! -

Where can one buy bars like that with a 31.8mm clamp?
-
• #17568
I'm not too sure, sorry! These are 25.4mm. Ergotec seem to have a lot of different varieties of "cruiser" bars though, worth having a look at them. For what it's worth, these are Ergotec and they are comfortable but heavy and quite cheap feeling (they were cheap though).

nice slow cruiser for this hot weather, really enjoying the different pace of life on this at the minute -

Elegant biek for the man about town...
Saddle angle looks distressing though and what's going on with the toestraps - paracord? -
• #17574
Saddle angle looks right to me, upright position demands some nosing up with Brooks saddles.

Adjust the rear mudguard stays, and you'll be fine. Plenty on there and trim the access off.
Put a front rack on to compensate for the missing front upper fender and it'll look boss!
Google Photos is a pile of fucking shite.
