I don't think that's true, a quick image search didn't find many examples of him having two STIs? Apart from his last season, and when Astana were on SRAM.

All of the 1999 tour pics (when USPS were rocking the livery on Packer's frame) have double STIs. :)

Finally got around to sorting out the Classique - I had it as a rolling chassis after selling the Campy Carbon shifters and 6800 group. Was using the Atlanta / Pacer for road bike duties but felt bad this was just sitting there. Fancied making this the Sunday best as it’s in far better condition than the Atlanta. Gave the paint a rub up with some T-Cut, replaced the 6800 bits with R8000 & recabled it.
Not a piece of carbon on the bike (minus shifter levers) - weighs 8.5kg

A P&L brother
You have many bikes. Is that the original fork on the Serotta? Guess it could be on second inspection, matches rear triangle and BB area.

Good lads over there!
Yeah original fork, it’s either an F1 or a F2
I know, blessed for space at the moment but might sell a few soon as situation may be changing

Just awaiting Gatorksin Sprinters to glue on.
7700 group w/ 7900 shifters. Tune mig/mag laced to Zipp 303. Wasn’t built to be weight weenie, but full build exc tyres and pedals is 6.5kg
Half of me wishes I put blue bar tape on.

Too late on your cp thread man all outstanding great job
that on one is fabulous
Yeah, 7400? downtube lever as he claimed it saved him like 90g? Lol Weightweenie
I think the one here is from 2002/2003 - looks like 7800 brakes, ahead, 31.8 bars, Nike co sponsor etc
I was thinking closely recreating the 1999 bike but as I don’t want to cut steerer and fit threaded headset so might as well make a few more deviations 😉
How drastic is the cable pull difference on 7900 compared to 77/7800? Can get a Jtek for rear but how will FD & brakes perform?
