Just did a "bored in quarantine" review of the dates in my spice rack.

Holy crap there was some old, old stuff in there. And I am out of spices now.

Lawd no. Out of corriander powder, celery salt, sate spice and a load of other obscure spices from random cooking phases. Just restocked on Yellow Bird sauces and dried chilies. I am good.

Also mini-Aroogah has just started in with Serrano based hot sauce as well as Sriracha. So that genetic expression has just started

Phew, it's not often that I get worried on here, but that had me close to the edge. :)

"Bored in quarantine" is the time to get the seeds, toast them and grind them to powder. Works well with coriander, awesome for cumin.

Not when they are already 3 years out of date though....

Caputo blue 00 pizza flour - any good for fresh pasta? I’ve heard mixing it 50/50 with normal flour is the way to do it but wouldn’t mind a second opinion before I commit to a 25kg sack

Aye, recipe said 7 but didn’t work out so a bit extra didn’t seem to hurt. It worked out good... real good

With home baked sourdough, homemade pickles, mustard and fresh horseradish sauce, it was seriously up there in my sandwich hall of fame.

Which one did you get, the kitchen aid stand mixer?

kitchen aid heavy duty 4.8l stand mixer. nisbets had it for 1/3 off

it was swayed by the ability to add the mockmill stone grain grinder which will be really useful for bread making, plus perhaps the pasta attachment, meat grinder and sausage stuffer over time

and it fits perfectly on my larder shelves

The spray stuff is great, and may find it's way onto food that really doesn't need or want gold glitter spray.
