I need to dig out of storage. So should I come back to this thread when I do that or post elsewhere? It'll take me about two weeks to access it.

If you don't know details of the frame, perhaps your mate does? If you could list specs like rear spacing, it would help with finding parts.

I agree with Phil, that would do more harm than good. Unfortunately it's pretty unlikely to turn up but worth keeping an eye on.
What frame have you got? There's plenty of parts and knowledge floating around here, I'm sure you can get something built that won't break the bank
