Excuse the Amazon link but after searching (not very hard) it was the first place I found one in stock.

Thanks, I was looking for a funnel shaped one like the 1 1/8" type. But it seems you are right, this quill to Ahead adaptor type appears to be all there is.
Cheers. -

Oh yes like one of these ones but in 1"?
https://www.rosebikes.co.uk/rose-steerer-tube-extender-721073I've never seen a 1" version of those so would imagine you'd have to use a 1 1/8 with a shim and then use a different stem too.

Yes, exactly what I had been looking for, but too tiny a 1" market to produce for I guess - hence no findy ;-)
I'll follow your first link, many thanks. -

I thought the forum consensus was that tube extenders are death traps.

I agree completely... I was expecting some purists, preaching hell fire.

I have one I was planning on selling. 1". Postage from Germany might be prohibitive though. Send me a pm if interested

Just to make things more interesting - it's an alloy steerer. So the i/d is less than 22.2mm and as it's a soft metal, I'm a little cautious about clamping an extender to it, even if I could find one.
FFS why does this crap always happen to me - lol.
I need to raise the stem on a 1" ahead fork, but the tube is short. I need a clamp on extender, but can't find anything other than 1 1/8". Could anyone please point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance ;-)
