The tour looks to be starting just before the end of the month so if it’s likely that it can happen in September I bet the dates for sports is moved to the 28th August to permit it. They’d never cancel the tour for a few days, it’s too big a deal in French culture even without going to the road side.

Will be super frustrating for riders if they start ramping up and training super hard now and then races get postponed or shelved again. Also won't be a good look for anyone if riders start dropping out of races with Covid... With so many riders banging the clenbuterol inhalers you'd think they would also be considered an at risk group.
More I think about it the more trying to deliver the three week grand tours just seems like a terrible idea. Milan San Remo etc seem much more viable.
Current French government position is that there should be no sporting events until the end of August too-which would set them at odds with ASO-or has this changed?
