• they've put DDR3 memory in the lower CPU and memory models. This is slow memory, 5 years out of date... you really really want the higher CPU models and to get the DDR4 memory.

Most people probably haven't even noticed that.

But if anyone is going to buy the 13" MBP... bump the CPU and/or RAM until you get DDR4 RAM.

They've also left 8th gen processors in the lower spec ones.
Parts bin clear out for the lower spec ones, albeit with the newer keyboard.

Got a 2020 Macbook Air recently. Still well within the returns period. Time to look at the reviews and see if it's worth returning/exchanging.

These are excellent... if you chose the Air because that fits your work, stick with it. It's a fantastic machine.

For me, it's video and audio work that lend to the MBP. And this rules out my Linux machines (few drivers/software for the hardware I plug in), and I could use my Windows laptop but I chose that for long battery life and low power... so I'm filling a gap in the laptops I have by going for something high power and that supports the hardware I have. If I wasn't looking for this... I wouldn't have got another laptop, but if I were in the market for a laptop and didn't need that power it would be a a 2020 Macbook Air

Pretty much chose it because I don't know how to use a Mac.

First few days. Infuriating. Having to relearn muscle memory from years of zipping round Windows with shortcuts. It is pretty though.
