Great tribute song. I had that on white vinyl, it was free with the first 100,000 copies of the album Black & White. I still have the album but lost the single some years back.

They were never the coolest, but they released some pretty good singles.

That's shit.
He used to own the pub in the village I grew up in / parents still live in. Was still living there I think.

Yeah I had that too (not anymore), along with (Get a) Grip (On Yourself) on pink vinyl.

Bugger. I don't usually give a shit who's died, so long as it isn't me. I remember them drinking with the great unwashed in the Greyhounds on Leicester Square after a gig. Just played "Down in the Sewer" very loud.

Walk On By Dave Greenfield, RIP.
This makes me sad, listened to it every day for the past three weeks.

I've been listening to Golden Brown a lot lately, he's wonderful on that... RIP...
My ex-manager was, allegedly, their first drummer...

The 5th strangler?

Just looked at their wiki and Jet Black was the founding member so it must've been a drunken tall tale... He isn't a liar, he was a real mover and a shaker BITD, he has some AMAZING stories... He co-wrote this with Reg King, an early ode to £sd... A classic, one of my faves...

Millie Small - American singer whose major hit was My Boy Lollipop in '64. Growing up in the 70's this was a really popular song on Junior Choice, presumably because it sounds like a child singing.

American singer
Jamaican, please. It's a great ska tune, I shall play the vinyl later. RIP Millie.

Rumours that Florian Schneider, co-founder of Kraftwerk, has died.
-
• #7895
Not rumours, fact sadly.

Very sad news. :(

Obviously seminal, but they got a bit repetitive after a while. RIP Florian.

Craig Charles is a twat, but he’s just played the full 22 minute version of Autobahn on his show on 6Music. Marvellous stuff. Glad I got to see Kraftwerk a few times with him in the line-up over the years.

RIP Tony, what a genius.
