I’m looking to get back into mtb. Did a lot of downhill racing in my youth, but have spent the last ten years shaving my legs. After an aggressive 27.5 hardtail as rides will be short and fun (sadly no time for long all day explorations).
Slightly out of the loop on mtb these days, and don’t want to break the bank (much as I’d love a Stanton or Santa Cruz). Any views on the Nukeproof Scout 275? Seems to have great reviews and pretty good value. I think that or a Cotic bfe seem to be my front runners. Neither are particularly easy on the eye, but the geometry looks a lot of fun compared with the bikes I used to ride!
San Quentin 3 was my first choice but ended up going with the Crush as it was cheaper and I couldn't find anywhere that has the San Quentin in stock, also they're quite expensive.
There are plenty of Cotics amongst these pages, I've got one and would recommend.
