I love them and so does my OH but they need a lot of exercise, that wouldn't be fair on the pooch... A smaller dog will be a bit more manageable for us... There are lots of large or working breeds locked up in small gardens and never getting exercised down here, makes me fucking sick...

Just reminded me of Dog from the Footrot Flats comic strips, which I loved as a kid when we lived in Queensland for a bit but doesn't hold up very well in these more enlightened times.

Also of a guy called Max we knew who drove a big ute, had a cattle dog and lived in a ramshackle house up on a little clifftop overlooking a national park the road to which was impassable without a truck winch if it had rained recently. he was basically rural Australia distilled down into one person.

After a few years of regular dog-sitting it looks like we'll be getting our own pup once all this madness is over... OH is super keen on a big dog, I've told her to fuck off... Small, hypoallergenic doggo it is, we've only got a small house... Italian Greyhound or a Pinscher, I think I'd prefer a Pinscher...
