I'm running Logic 10.3 that I got off the internet on my 2008 stuck on El Capitan Macbook Pro, works fine.

I'm also running Logic 10 on a 2009 macbook pro (4gb ram, core 2 duo) and it's fine for the most part, so would suggest something's not right with the macbook
