Have found that due to picking up many suggestions from this thread I've inadvertently become a whiskey snob. Had some JW Black Label last night and found it near undrinkable, quite an acrid flavour and way too much burn on the way down. Haven't drunk a non single malt nas whiskey in over 18 months though

If you've been drinking decent whisky for a couple of years then it's only normal that your pallete will have changed. I also think they use more grain whisky in black label these days as it's definitely a bit rougher than it used to be, but I still like using it in old fashions.
