• Hi all,
I have collected several parts that I won't now be using, so am offering them up here. Prices don't include postage- the smaller items will cost £3. The bulkier items vary, and the pricier ones will include an extra fee for insurance cover.
A forum donation will be made if most of the stuff sells here. If there's little interest here I'll be moving it onto eBay, although I'd prefer selling to you chaps.

    Shimano Dura-Ace AX 7300 bars
If you know these bars, you'll be aware that they're pretty much the rarest and most sought after vintage DA kit around (Shimano gave the bars a v limited run), and this example is in lovely condition. Width is 38cm and clamp size is 26mm. These are part of Shimano's AX 'aero' groupset, the upshot of which is the design included a few tweaks to the bars profile- this being that they're ovalised along the flats, as well as having a subtle downward curve there, quite like pursuit bars etc. The central sleeve is hardly marked, just a few fine lines if you look closely. The bars show some zigzagging around the ends, but of course these will be under the tape. Nothing else to speak of. There's still some tape residue on them but this will clean off easily. They still feel very stiff when on the bike.
When these occasionally show up on EBay the price is often upwards of £80, and sometimes silly money, due to the rareness. On this site they've also sold for a fair bit. I'm pricing mine at £70. I can give a discount on the bars and stem if bought as a package.

Shimano Dura Ace 7200 stem. Close matching aero shaped stem for the above bars. Not in quite the same league of rarity as the bars, but still pretty scarce. These also have an 'aero' design, the bar clamp being the internal bolt type, and the bolt head area is given a reduced profile, due the wedge bolt being fully internally housed in the stem.
Condition is only good due to some slight cable rub to the head where it curves away towards the underside (hard to spot in this location), and some wear to the finish just underneath the DA logo. The rear bolt cover isn't the original DA one with manufacturer name etched on, but is a cover taken from a 600 AX model, and if an original-looking one is required then repro ones can quite easily be sourced on EBay. Clamp size 26mm, length 120mm.
    Price £40

BLB Pista Vera track chainset 165mm / 46t 1/8" chainring. Cranks are highly polished and the steel chainring has v shiny chrome. There's little wear to the teeth and the only complaint is the chrome there has begun to dull. Slight heel rub shows near the pedal holes. Lovely Campag copy and retro design. Threads and tapers are good. Chainring PCD- 130mm.

Selle Italia Flite saddle. The classic saddle and this one pretty rare due to the colour and the condition of the cover, which tends to show up more in this colour. Rails also still feel stiff when ridden on, and I feel that the saddles had quite an easy life. No tears to the cover, and the only things to mention are a slight indentation to the cover near the rear and a noticeable scuff near to the nose.
    £30

  • Dibs flite, pm sent!

  • 2nds flite

  • Columbus Tusk forks. With Columbus branded dropouts. 205mm of (alloy) steerer tube available. For 1 1/8" steerers. Looks to have around 50mm offset. Forks are I'm very good condition, with only occasional scuffs showing to the carbon varnish. Nothing else to speak of.
    £30

Cinelli track bars/stem/brake levers cockpit. Bars are the Criterium model, stem is an A1. Brake levers are by Gipiemme. Lovely classic track bars from Cinelli, with a same era stem. Measure 40cm across c-to-c so for those less broad across the shoulders. These have the older Cinelli bar clamp size of 26.4mm. Condition is very good, with very clean centre sleeve. Still feel very stiff when on the bike. The stem has a couple of small dings but is still very presentable. Length 90mm. All threads are good. Gipiemme levers bear quite a resemblance to vintage Campag ones. For non aero setup. The brake blades show noticeable scuffing, but it's not too bad.
    £40> £35

Mavic MA3 wheelset. Mavic rims laced to Dura Ace 7700 series hubs. Tyres included are 28c Panaracer Pasala's, but happy to keep these if you only want the wheels. Rims are virtually unworn and hubs are basically new looking and have pretty much nil wear to bearing cones/races. Axles spin forever when spun by hand...
    Wheelset withdrawn from sale.
Pics and price to follow shortly.

    Mavic/DA wheelset withdrawn from sale.

  • You don’t happen to have the bar ends for the AX bars by any chance? How much posted for them please? Thanks. T

  • Ah yes, the specially shaped bar ends plugs that fit the aero profiled ends of the bars. Good question, as these are even rarer than the bars themselves, what with such items easily being lost:) And unfortunately, this happens to be the case with my example, so you're out of luck:(
(bought the bars with bar tape fitted and non original standard plugs, and remember they were so ill fitted (naturally) they were practically falling out:) Guess the new owner will have to use lock-on ends, as I doubt he'll find the original ones either)

  • [...the search for a Mavic/7700 rear continues...]

  • Interested in the wheels pending pics etc

  • Note my thread entry above concerning the wheelset.

  • Thanks mate, appreciated. Aye those end caps are a nightmare to find, ive already got a pair of these bars but no caps. Missed out on an NOS pair going for £70 🙄 will give it some thought. Have a good day and stay safe. T

  • Yup, I think you could be waiting until Kingdom Come before you'll find the bar ends at auction:) It's a shame that once you've achieved the success of finding the super rare DA bars, you're then still left unfulfilled because of not having the accessory for it:) Or something like that:)
Probably a better deal for a DA fan to just settle for getting my DA AX bars and stem in one bundle, from me;)

  • Ah balls. Why the wheels withdrawn? I’d have bought them.

  • Can I dibs the tusk forks please and I’ll measure the head tube and stack height on my bike and confirm tomorrow.

Also where abouts are you based?

    Cheers Andy

  • Thanks for your interest. I didn't think the details of the withdrawal were really worth mentioning, but if you'd like to know, one of the wheels met with an accident during one of several storage lockup removals, and I've only just now become aware of it. I hadn't included pics with the other details above for this reason too- I probably should have had the wheelset to hand before advertising them, so to avoiding whetting everyone's appetites, but I decided to be casual in assuming the condition and went ahead anyway. I'd gotten an idea from people on the site that they especially wanted only the wheelset (ie not a single wheel or the component parts), so rather than selling the remaining good wheel, I've decided to unlace both wheels and sell what's still good on EBay, since it's worthwhile with a special wheelset like this one was. If there is still interest from anyone, they're welcome to track down the bits on there.

  • Thanks for your dibs- I'll hang fire on the forks until I hear from you tomorrow. Based in Hendon, NW4.

  • I’d be interested in the hubs if they were available cheers k

  • Thanks for the interest but, as mentioned, they're only available on eBay now. Good luck if you bid for them.

  • Ah, fair enough. It’s just than I’m looking for a pair like that to complete a build. I’ll watch eBay and see what happens, cheers.

  • No worries out of interest are they 32h cheers
