I'm very tempted by these although 45 days delivery on them and would mean getting two wheels built instead of one.

Specsav.... oh never mind

They're amazing, no matter what they look like. Done me for years of thrashing. If Zipp and Mack live up to them they'll do well ;)
Now the decision is low or high flange rear. Low looks better as it's the same as the front. High flange reduces spoke length (minimally) so could help with stiffness.. Life is tough.. T -

And I never should've sold my BMW BMX, or Park Bike. Regret that to this day..

I was just playing <3. I had the same thought regarding flange size/stiffness and ordered a set of Macks with low flange front and high in the rear. Still going strong after 8 years, they’re quality hubs but it seams to be hit and miss sometimes as I guess you’ve read online. I doubt I would have noticed a difference in stiffness having chosen a matching set of lows tbh.
Regarding your BMX, that makes two of us. I still regret not buying it when you posted it for sale.

Nice (and thanks man) but not 3000gbp nice.

those BMXs were absolutely nothing special when they were new.

Haha I know ;)
My only thoughts were that spoke count will be dropping to 24h so whether or not a larger flange will help stiffen things up.
Also decided to go Phil Wood Pro rear hub, always wanted one ;) Think I'll go low flange and see what happens..
Ha I have regrets selling anything BMW related these days! -

Haven't used my v1 much since buying it, but got round to putting it together recently.
I really don't want to chuck my Spd's on it so looking for some velcro style pedal retention, red straps are very temporary. Any recommendations? similar to Cinelli or restraps etc suitable for mtb style flat pedals.
Being 6ft 4 and riding a medium v1 comes with its difficulties although it's getting there.
Currently looking for a 130/140mm stem or/and a 29.8 setback Thomson post, no idea even if that is a thing. Ritchey cross fork is on and so far really liking it, eventually will stick a Paul Canti brake on when I find one. Swapped from 25c gator skins hardshells to 32c panaracer gravel king sk's which are surprisingly fast on the road with a little bit of insurance when on rough paths.
Going from 49x17 to 49x16 gearing has been a great change too. -

Hey man, looking good.
Wheels go really well with it, good choice.
I doubt you'll find a 29.8 with layback, Thomson don't make one and not sure many other companies do either (or at least decent ones). You'd probably have to shim it. Saying that if you changed the saddle I'd imagine you'd get a good bit more setback.
HoldFast are the best straps I've ever used, still have my black set and an NOS BMW Ltd Ed one in its bag ;) They're a bit pricier but super comfy and strong, last forever. Have them on MKS Nuevo NJS pedals and it's a fantastic combo.
10deg Thomsons have the best angle but that's just my opinion ;)
Keep the pics coming and hope you're well. T -

Nice one Tom, will have a look at those straps. Could shim a 27.2 layback... might give it a try, probably look abit odd.
I’m torn as the Brooks is so worn in and comfy now.
Agreed I’m ideally after a Thomson x2 as an enve or similar can start to look huge on a steel frame.
Likewise, safe riding.
your v1 was good inspiration.
