  • Surely in these parts it's a puppy killing.

Like putting an arrospok on, for instance, a cielo, hacking off the derailleur hanger and turning it into a ratty single speed.

  • Beyond black then yeah? -17 is it?

  • Caught it before the edit. Cheers :)

  • Yup.

Yeah I figured someone was going to try to correct me like I thought black on black was the actual name of it

  • black on black on black innit

  • Turding a Polish?

  • Using turd as polish?

  • Anti-theft paste.

  • Early stage build. The frame was given for free on the forum by @Tom59. Thanks again Tom

  • My Manenti in marble paint effect which I bought off here a year ago. I’ll soon be treated to the summer wheels with tan Corsas

  • Back on the Pinarello discussion, this was my 90's Sestriere. Steel tubing, downtube looks a similar profile to the turd brown one.

  • Nice - how/where did you get the disc tabs added?

  • My dear friend @togas helped me out with this one

  • Did you buy this from me? I had one about eight years ago, they used Forma SL tubing which was an in-house tubing I believe

  • I think I got it off the retrobike forum but it was about 8 years ago looking at the info on the pictures. Best steel frame I've ridden by a good distance but I let it go as it was slightly too big for me & was offered a good price.

  • nice job , how does it brakes ? Are the forks stiff enough?

  • Sheesh :O

EDIT: I meant this for the Saeco Cannondale.

  • That's a good question. It was my concern and still is because the frame and fork are made of Columbus EL...

I only tested it once for 20km and the fork felt sturdy and I haven't notice anything bad. It needs more testing. No idea though how it will behave with more weight on it, as I'm going to use it for delivery jobs. It's now waiting for riser bars, tubeless wheels, front rack and mudguards

  • Should have bought one of these in '89 instead of the Elix.

  • I was about to go hunting for a 8s Athena chainset and BB to finally complete my groupset, and then I thought "screw it, I'm swinging the MGOOF hammer at my Daccordi". Time for a change of groupset and wheels, I think.

Can I please have some connoisseur-grade MGOOF reccommendations?

I'm torn between Shimano and Campagnolo at this point. It's genuinely a tough one. Would carbon rims be OTT? Is that perhaps the point?

My first urge is to do this:

  • Campag and carbon rims if it's a money no object kind of upgrade.

Personally I don't really see carbon rims as a worthwhile upgrade for most people, although they certainly look the part on that Concorde. I'd rather sink money elsewhere, especially since you can get great aluminium rims/wheels second hand or very cheaply.

  • The concorde is gooood. I think a lot of the newer chainsets look too beefy on steel tubes.

    Inspiration from 5 pages back...

  • I think a lot of the newer chainsets look too beefy on steel tubes.

A lot of people share that opinion, and yes some of the latest chainsets look terrible, but going ST on a road bike in 2020... Any UltraTorque one would look fine IMHO, I do like the FC-7800 and FC-9000 for Shimano.
Speaking of groupsets, the Campa ones have aged better than the Shimano, visually at least.

  • Every time I see one I think 'maybe I should....' then I remember why I sold my R900.
