Too logical

I feel the same way about Rivs, also considering a Crust canti lightning bolt, similar vibe. I guess import duties and shipping would be prohibitive though, so for similar money custom UK built.

Rob English is probably my favourite frame builder ever but this one cannot be unseen...
-
• #23282
He either seems to attract customers with the oddest aesthetic tastes or has some innate problem with standard frame design.

• #23283
Sometimes he hits the nail on the head, its rare though

correct thread for this!
Did you mean to post this in anti?

Functional bikes. Not Porn not Anti
Nodders welcome
-
• #23287
Its anti for the fork, wing mirror and stem extender. Nothing to do with someone ordering a bike to their requirements
-
• #23288
Isnβt the execution part of the function though? Looks pretty functional to me. Mirrors serve a purpose as does stack height and cushty front
-
• #23289
Functional maybe, anti yes
-
• #23290
My humble apologies, I didnβt realise that the functional bikes thread had such little truck with flippancy

• #23291
Boomers have feelings too.

Those Lauf forks should be banned and it should be illegal to install them on any bike
-
• #23293
Functional is functional. Go back to page 1 to see what itβs about, if you want aesthetically pleasing bikes, thereβs other threads. That English is functional and interesting. Is it pretty? Maybe not. This ainβt a thread for pretty bikes. Not every bike has to be a custom blue lug build.

@eejit because an older cyclist ordering a custom bike to his requirements should be an object of ridicule?
No, because ordering a custom bicycle should mean that regardless of your age or (dis) ability you get a bike that looks like it was made to fit you and that fulfills your requirements in the most elegant and efficient way and that bike doesnβt really seem to tick any of those boxes.

Finally, a reasonable moderate with a manifesto for the masses

One man's functional bike is another man's anti.
Anti is so subjective that in order to prevent it from being posted, you can't post any bikes. On top of that, the term has been diluted to 'I personally don't like this one aspect of this bike'. I agree with leaving the nitpicking to the pr0n thread. Let's not ruin one of the forum's best threads.

Exactly and threads evolve over time as do what people consider being cool and functional. One day it's 1x drivetrains and front racks are sick and the next you see people praising triples and panniers. It's all good.
The Lauf may not be permanent, I guess if it works for the owner then a custom stem could be an option.
