Currently 2 options as regards to drivetrain...
1) 1983 Saracen / Evans Mountain bike as donor - Suntour Mountech triple, DC980 cantis, (Heard the mountech RD's are useless though so would swap), would probably end in a flat bar / wald basket build.
2) Drops / Campy ergopower groupset (8/9 speed era)

Been making slow progress.
Scored on some Campy Chorus / mavic wheels for 40 quid, also 36 spoke which is a bonus.
Also picked up some 10 speed Chorus shifters, A long cage triple-comp rear mech and some Nitto M177 Noodles. Plan is to build it up 700c then do the conversion. Also got a Velo Orange rack and Swift Ozette bag on the way soon, hopefully get it built up for some summer milage.

How’s the project going?

Sorry been a busy last couple years but it's been built for a while, sadly not getting as much mileage it deserves. Needs a few bits tweaking here and there but overall very happy. Still keeping an eye out for a nice 650b wheelset to eventually convert over to.

Looking great!
Is the frame 531ST?
Just picked up of @snoops this rather nice Condor Cadet tourer from the 90's.
Been wanting a 650b tourer / rando bike for a while but everything either being to small or too £££. Luckily was able to get this at a very reasonable price. Fitting it's a Condor since it's going to be replacing my Heritage tourer which is on the small side for me.
Plan is to get the brake mounts changed to take 650b, not decided on centrepulls or canti's (if anyone has any paul touring canti's in silver for sale hmu) . Frame has heaps of clearance and is very well built so seems the ideal candidate. Think I'm gonna leave the paint as is.
