i don't honestly think any of those will offer anything above what you have now. what's the main issue with your current crankset?

I would like to improve the looks of the crankset. After 5+ years it's looking a little beaten! The existing one is black in colour - would like to change to chrome. Any other recommendations? Thanks

Is this the same crankset on Planet X? Only with 48 or 49 teeth though but big difference in price.

Thanks - yes very good price.

the stronglight one is a good bet. i'd change the BB at the same time as well, which you can get from PX. if you want to do the job yourself, you'll need to buy or borrow a crank puller and the relevant bottom bracket removal tool.

Thank you for that. Am I ok to go with 48t (I am currently running 46t) for better gearing ratio for me? I will get new BB too. I'm going to get the local bike store to change it all out and new chain too.

48t will be fine i guess. it will be harder to pedal but your bike will go further for each rotation of the cranks.

if you're getting a new chainring and chain, you should really get a new rear cog while you're at it.

Thanks - I am changing wheelset also. I'll let the guys in the local bike store look after this once I get all the parts together.

Last question. What size bottom bracket do I need? thanks
I was looking at the Stronglight BB

Spa Cycles sell a Sugino TD2 for £38. Arguably better than the Stronglight too.
-

if you do get the stronglight, the blurb indicates you'll need a 107mm JIS BB, which the JP400 is.
most cranksets specify somewhere what BB you need for a 42mm chainline. that's the standard chainline for fixed and SS bikes. it means that the (centre of the) chain is 42mm to the right of the centre line of the bike.

Sugino TD2
Thank you. Is this the link? Is this a Stronglight or Sugino brand?

The Stronglight in Silver just looks so good

Yes, they just say Spa Cycles but they are indeed Sugino cranks, great value for money.

Hi,
Looking to upgrade the crankset on my 2014 Fuji Track Classic. I'm currently running 46t and 170mm.
I was looking at (starting at lowest starting price)
Token TK2051
https://www.wiggle.co.uk/token-tk2051-alloy-track-chainset/
Miche Xpress
https://www.wiggle.co.uk/miche-xpress-track-chainset/
Stronglight Tack 2000
https://www.probikeshop.com/en/gb/stronglight-track-2000-crankset-165mm/71371.html
What would people recommend in terms of looks and performance? I would like to go with possibly 48t for (better top speed) - I need to change my chain anyway. Anything else to consider or is it an easy swapover? Should I change my bottom bracket also?
Thanks. Sorry for all the questions - newbie to all this!
