This was a good ride
Perhaps not the most memorable of the year though :-D

didn’t need reminding of this

Depends on the rider and the course obviously but some of those tracks are steep so I think angles are at least as important as travel. Which one are you thinking of doing? I had half an eye on entering the EWS100 in Olargues.

You're pretty lucky that wasn't a 29er

My kids spent their favourite morning ever clearing part of an overgrown pump track in our local woods. Should keep us busy this week!
Anyone got a goat for hire?

Depends of course on C19, but I was looking at a round in France that I now cannot find on the EWS site, annoyingly.

Not done enough yet to ride much, but it used to be ok albeit turns into a swamp for 9 months of year usually. It’s just downhill from the peak canal so the water table is v high and it’s all clay soil here
Anyone any tips for finishing a surface with basic tools? I was thinking rake it level/ clear leaves, fill any big holes/ dig out any major plants, then just whack it flat with a shovel?
Didn’t know if it was worth adding extra soil or not? -

Talking of EWS I watched the Red Bull TV series on it, great watch.

I have to admit that I'd like a chance to do the run myself a few times before committing to it at race speed.

Get a BTR tool, no idea if it's worth it but they are made for doing all that shit.

Ooh nice! Now that looks decent kit
In other weird ‘does my bike fit’ news I fitted a dropper today just to try it- really good, I’m sold, but the collar sits right on the seat clamp, I really don’t have more post showing than my 60cm cross bike so maybe the frame in theory is ok size, it’s just a bit of an odd shape for me?

People are different dimensions. Doesn’t mean it’s the right size for you.
My frame is a good length for me but also sits a bit tall with a dropper slammed in the seat tube.
I’m mostly body and arms, less so legs. -

You're both freaks.
