Some Spec Awols were set up with switches in bar end plugs.

That is pretty good! Was hoping for a diy verison if that when I set mine up 4 years ago but couldn’t find a switch the fitted nicely enough.

i need this but dont really need this.

Any idea how Specialized routed the dynamo output cables into the handlebar?

Under the bar tape I think? I haven’t seen one in a few years. The wiring went up to a plug charger.

Might be able to dig something out from this, he apparently tried to mount the toggle on Jones Bars but moved it. No mention of trying to drill out the bars.

If I was gonna DIY it I’d just run it under the tape and shrink tube it to the brake housing to a nice spot.

That is very trick. As above zero use for it, but somehow want?

Afraid not.

I have solved my problem in a needlessly expensive and complex fashion (I have time on my hands). I'm getting those dyna-snap magnetic connectors so I can remove the bulky switch from the set up when I'm not doing multi-day rides. I just need to bodge a velcro strap for the switch to replace the zip ties. And to make it more complex and time consuming I might try and get a new 3d printed case for the switch.

Sounds intriguing! Keen to see pictures when it’s done. Are these the same dyna-snaps that do the friction fit spade/bullet connectors? Had considered those so I didn’t have things attached all the time but in the end wasn’t bothered and just soldered everything in.
