Definitely good all body exercise. Legs definitely feel fatigued and less able on the bike.
HR graph is pleasing to look at.Going to focus more on the turbo next month, so maybe more of an upper body month? 100 chin-ups a day?

Oh, I found I can do chin ups on the steps of the place above but I can only do 2-3 because the concrete edge tears my hands to shreds. I was thinking about getting the gloves on and doing proper sets but it's not high on my list of things to do. Smashing fuckers on bikes is way better than prancing around kissing biceps.

I am, obviously.
I wonder if all the meat heads at the gyms have had to order extra mirrors for home? -
• #456
Don't need mirrors if you're live streaming on youtube...

Ah, yes, I forget about the modern broadcast generation.

Just "did" 76 pushups (23,19,18,16,14) needed a few 10 seconds pauses and an extra 30 seconds after the first lot. Don't think I can call that completed so I guess it's that over and over until it's sorted. Lubricated by about 600ml of rum mixed with orange juice for health gains.
-
• #459
Rum and OJ. Now this is an interesting combo. I haven't bought juices for years but should I? I mean, for science and all?
-
• #460
In purely scientific terms, I feel fucking shit this morning, I can only assume it's all the sugar, not that I polished off 3/4 of a litre of rum.

I think I got through most of my Perivale NEIPAs last night and a sour Deya oh and a Hawkes ginger beer after 2hr sweet spot session wedged between meetings. Today is W3D3 of pushups and an easy turbo session. Think I'll whip out a podcast for the riding, not too keen on the pushups after the last day.

My run days and press up days have synched this week. So 5km today followed by week 4 day 2, 36+ last set is not looking fun. 140 total.

• #463
So 30 days of 100 pullups for May, along with a challenge with my cycling club on highest % FTP increase.
Going to be tough! -
• #464
Well that didn’t last long.
50 pull-ups, 50 chin-ups, spread throughout the day, 40,20,20,20, and 100 pushups to even things out.Today, I have struggled through 35, and genuinely can’t do another single one.
FTP ramp test puts me at 255, so will do as many chin-ups as I can (but not 100) but will focus on FTP gains. -

Tried and failed at the Murph today.
In theory it is:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile RunFor me (having a circle of roads exactly 0.5 of a mile):
[0.5mile run then (5 Pull ups, 10 Push ups, 15 Squats) x 5]
Repeat x4
Managed to drag myself through 2 full reps (50 Pull, 100Push, 150 Squats) then on the third had to sub Pulls for 20 Sit ups.
Then the 4th I managed 1 rep of each.
Running was easy...
How you're meant to do it with +20kg body armour...
Gave up and did some more skipping and home gym work.Project for summer, clearly.

^ Sounds mental (paticularily with body armour!).
Started the 100 press up program today (although I had been doing about 30 most days anyway) so we'll see how long I manage to stick with it.

I have been intrigued by Murph for quite some time but never tried it. I think there is no partition in the original challenge (i.e. 100 pull ups, once completed jump to 200 pushups, etc.).
Watched out of curiosity Crossfit Games 2 years ago I guess (can't remember exactly) ; format was a little different as split into 20 pullups / 40 pushups / 60 squats to complete 5 times. Bridges the former navy seal did all of the 5 sets of 20 pullups unbroken I was like wtf -
• #468
Yeah- I think that its supposed to be uninterrupted, but I knew for sure I couldn't manage that.
The split with the runs made it seem more potentially manageable, but even that clearly was too much.
Body feels a bit wrecked tbh today- it has been a while. -
• #469
Yes I can imagine! speaking for myself uninterrupted or not I am fairly confident that I can't come near to finish half of it ha ha ha so congratulations for your performance nonetheless!

Much more difficult with normal pull-ups, not the kipping style the crossfitters do.
My upper body is completely useless today. Managed 36 pull-ups yesterday, then I could only do a single rep throughout the rest of the day, so giving upper body a rest today.
Day one Zwift FTP booster fasted worked well though.

Ended up missing a whole week of 100 pushup challenge due to apathy. I was repeating W3 and daughter was starting W4. Both failed day 1, so you can quickly lose what you had in just 7 days.
Will push on through with these weeks and repeat them next week where, hopefully, some of the strength/stamina has returned.
"long" run will be up to 8km today once I've got some work done (Monday is my day off but it means I can get ahead of the week.)

You'd fucking better be if you're calling yourself iron wolf.

haha.
1000 rep burpee sessions.....

He’s a monster. So many burpees that I just watch how fresh he looks at the end of the video...
Yeah, I've got zero interest in burpees. My turbo training is hard to complete at the best of times so I don't do anything else with my legs.
Pushups, tricep dips, planks and some stretching are the only thing I'll add on top. I stopped doing the random work exercises and the skipping also never got a second look in. Crossfit, I will not be.
