Advice on mounting brakes

  • Tried crosstop levers? There might be something suitable out there but I don’t know if anything specific.

When β€œfixie” bikes were at their peak, there was a stem someone designed with an integrated brake lever. But the whole thing looked like a breeze block.

Would have solved your problem though.

  • Able to sketch or show what you're asking?

    Sounds odd

  • Don't know why you made two threads for this both in the wrong place but like I said in the other one, you can probably get away by using a 31,8mm cross lever close to your stem.
The problem with using this 23,8mm lever is that with different bars you have to put it quite far from your stem on the outside of your bars, this doesn't leave much place for your hands.

  • Cane Creek Crosstops. They come in two sizes for older skinny bars or modern oversize bars. They're hated a bit on here, but not sure why because mine work great.

  • want the brakes on the width of the handlebars, not the hoods.

Get some road bike levers with hoods, you'll thank me later.
Tektro RL340 for Β£10 will do

  • This is solid advice^
