• I rode BPW on a trail bike (150/140), enjoyed it. I’m buying a 150/135, which is intended on taking to the alps, when things open up.

It’s not an Enduro bike, and frankly I’m struggling a bit with where (in the UK) and Enduro bike is needed.

However- would a trail bike be suitable for racing one of the EWS courses, if/when they open again? I’d like to give it a go, but I don’t know if they’d be too rough for my bike.

Would you be riding at the speed of a pro EWS racer?

  • People manage it on hardtails don't they? Just race one and see.

  • An EWS was won last year on a 150/140, so I don't think being 5mm short is going to kill you.

where (in the UK) and Enduro bike is needed.

Plenty in Epping Forest, even seen a guy on a full DH rig with full face.

  • Depends on the rider and the course obviously but some of those tracks are steep so I think angles are at least as important as travel. Which one are you thinking of doing? I had half an eye on entering the EWS100 in Olargues.

  • Have you ever even looked at any proper EWS courses?

If you're using BPW as a barometer for the state of British off piste trails you're way fucking off.
I can take you to multiple places in the U.K. where an enduro bike is justified. Just give me a shout.

    I'd be happy to help.
