The times article portrayed Vallance as close to Cummings but Whitty not.

I'm not convinced Chris Whitty is blameless in where we find ourselves. I think he and Vallance were integral to the 'herd immunity' / delayed lockdown / 'behavioural science' strategy that contributed to where we are.
