  • That's probably a good reality check, even getting the bike ready and acquiring the license sounds like fun to me. I know some people pick and choose which meetings they attend depending on location/rain but yeah imagine anyway you look at it it's not cheap.

  • I raced with New Era and BMCRC and it was damn expensive even 20 years ago. I used to pick the nearest rounds at my favourite tracks, so mostly Brands, Mallory, Caldwell and Snett. If you’re racing a street bike class and don’t get into tuning the biggest expenses will be Tyres and crash damage. Definitely lighter bikes are the way to go.

    I love the golden era superbikes stuff. SRAD all the way, though might be fun playing Scotty Russell on a ZXR.

  • Nice! I imagine with the lighter bikes the average joe is more likely to use what it's got to offer as opposed to a modern litre bike too. Definitely a fan of hustling newer/bigger bikes on something old than the other way around.
