• I'm not convinced Chris Whitty is blameless in where we find ourselves. I think he and Vallance were integral to the 'herd immunity' / delayed lockdown / 'behavioural science' strategy that contributed to where we are.

  • They gave the advice, the government made the decision.

  • From what I read Vallance was the one that suggested the "herd immunity" not Whitty.

    Any nuance may not matter though if the Tories/general public want to see somebody punished.

    The times article portrayed Vallance as close to Cummings but Whitty not.
