Hearing a scientist trying to stay on the governments line last night was a bit painful to watch.
He must know that the scientists working with government are gonna be fucked over royally by the Tories at some point, and the whole "we're following the science" Cummings slogan that Ministers are trotting out at every difficult question is there to shift the blame onto the scientific advisors at a later point? "we aren't responsible for the choices made during the crisis, we just followed the scientific advice. Blame them, not us"
What a position to be in.
