Like Giesecke said, once you've embraced the idea of lockdown you can't back out easily-if they do ease up then they're just going to get blamed for the future spike in deaths, having already overseen a chaotic response.
I'm sure they'll be champing at the bit, and will be desperate to use some unproven app/science/whatever to justify it, but it's political Cyanide to have forced people to stay in on the grounds of safety for six weeks then just say "we've fucked it, so it's pointless."
Somewhere, somehow they need to get a massively expanded testing capacity up and running to do the hard yards of contact tracing and containment. Probably too much like hard work for BJ though.
