  • Which system do you think is better - one where democratically elected governments fund global bodies, or one where billionaires are coerced into doing so?

  • Isn't the government in question coerced by the billionaires into being elected?

    It's all so meta.

  • Dunno, but neither of those is what I was thinking about.

I was just thinking that if I had a few bucks sitting about (yeah yeah, I know, they don’t have it ‘sitting about’ either), I would chip in to make up a relatively paltry deficit.
Anyway, forget the idealism, back to sitting around again.

  • The Gates Foundation already does that, to the tune of several hundreds of meeeeeelions.

  • Didn’t bezos sell like 3.4 billion dollars of amazon stock shortly before the stock market tanked? Pretty sure he doesn’t have a liquidity problem.

  • Also, yes, billionaires should be coerced into funding everything via taxation. Either that or the fucking guillotine.

  • Or be more like these billionaires (the ones who honour the pledge, anyway).

  • Isn't the government in question coerced by the billionaires into being elected?

    Well ... sort of.

Private, wealthy individuals funding the WHO is clearly way more political and free of democratic checks, I’m sure we’d agree that.

Also. $400m isn’t even a lot of money. It’s the average forumenger’s kitchen by all accounts.

  • He sells stock regularly on a scheduled basis, as far as I'm aware - I know no other details though.

  • "Go spittlelick a dirty ape, you poobah rolling boondock."

Beyond mockery of a septuagenarian, cognitively declining right-wing sociopath, this is the "best" choice the DNC made to beat Trump.
Why? Coz they don't want to win. The other slightly less cognitively declining right-wing sociopath has the best machine behind him and the DNC is just the corporate captured subordinate in one party with two wings: the "Fuck, kill and eat the general public" party.

Party politics globally is captured, by en large, by right-wing warmongers who hate and fear the poor.*

In the U.K. Starmer is already trying to placate Murdoch by doing prostration pieces in The Times. Headline is: "Please don't fuck me like Corbyn. I'll do whatever you want."

The left doesn't exist any more. The moment when empathy and solidarity arose with Sanders in 2016 and 2020 has been snuffed out. Corbyn has been neutralised and any sniff of a rebuttal to global right-wing pathocracy has been eliminated.

    We're all fucked.

    Good night.

*Your 40k kitchen doesn't count. You cunt.

  • I take it the Tanergine Dumbfuck doesn't know it's the Nobel Prize, not the Noble Prize?

  • Poor attempt at a Reverse Ferret.

  • He really understands sarcasm

  • Wait... Does he mean "Pulitzer"?

    Is that the joke?

  • Intern controlling Twitter is pure 15 year old watching veep and Seinfeld.

  • Poor attempt at a Reverse Ferret.

You may mean what I'm about to say, but I don't think this is a reverse ferret (on Noble/Nobel), but rather a clumsy attempt at pretending that he was indeed being 'sarcastic' when he suggested people should inject bleach. I think he himself knows that he screwed up there and that this could be something people remember him by (as opposed to most of his other blandishments). Hence, he invents something else, on one of his running themes, to deflect from it, with the idea that people will assume he's too ignorant to know that 'Nobel' is spelled 'Nobel' in the prize, and then comes out, triumphantly as I'm sure you will agree, with: 'Ha, ha, April Fool! Didn't you understand what I meant? Oh, it must be because I was being sarcastic!' (I would argue that the Nobel/Noble stuff is not an example of sarcasm at all, but of wilfully engineered misunderstanding.)

He really stopped developing emotionally when he was about 11.

  • Who could’ve guessed that the trump campaign would have come up with this as attack line?

  • How did the Dems find an even worse candidate than Hilary Clinton though?

  • At this point, you have to start thinking that the Democrats are just a less successful branch of the Republicans.
