Genuinely, why not? What other outcome could we have had from this situation in particular which would be preferable? (And it has to be realistic, not something like the police turning up or the victim convincing the racist the error of his ways through expressive dance)

You’re rather missing the humour of the post here - that being Switzerland’s neutrality during WW2 - perhaps because you’re a bit keen on taking some presumed moral high ground

The guy in the video may not technically be a nazi and you may not be technically Swiss, I have no idea on either count, but you’re both on the wrong side of the argument.

I wish every violent incident went so well, with someone realising they were silly and leaving, the thing i always worry about is massive full on (usually drunken) beatings and those little one punch/nut things where someone hits their head and dies.

That was like a newspaper to the nose for a misbehaving dog, not that I support that and there usually wouldn't be blood on the newspapers head afterwards.
