Probably out of my budget but this seems like a good deal (right..?) for anyone after a hardtail:

Nice!

I may turn up to an Epping ride on a Gravbiek. Hope you won't shun me. I'll alternate it with the Bfe.
Nah, most of those guys are massively overbiked anyway ;-)

I've ridden some of the single track on a Supersix, wasn't the best but I/it didn't die either. Depends how much fun you want to have really.

Supersix
See, overbiked. You could easily have used a CAAD10 ;-)

• #16135
Supersix
Definitely more compliant.

But which is more chuckable?
-
• #16138
Thanks big man, looks like a good read
-
• #16139
Supersix being that it was one size smaller, and about 4kg lighter.
-
• #16140
Did that help with the chuckability?

hey! new to the thread (love it already)
I currently have a straggler with all xt components and decided it's time to go back to getting grubby..
Any good F&F combo reccomendations / sales threads going? am planning on swapping over the nearly new groupset/xt brakes to either hardtail or full sus + fork and wheels -

Cool share thanks

I bloody love where i live.
Racing Ralph / Ray is a speedy combo.
Also, swapped the 110 for a 70mm stem, handling much improved. 110mm stems ain't 2020.

Wonder if anyone here can help- my hardtail feels cramped- like I need to sit further back and the bars are always in my way! If I ride tech stuff I find I slide back off the seat looking for more room. Frame is right size in theory but could my forks be too short and thus tipping everything forwards? Seat is fully back on rails.
Or am I just not used to modern trail bike geo -
• #16145
Too short forks would increase the reach. The frame is too short for you.
-
• #16146
Damn! Oh yeh I was being thick! They don’t really make longer frames than XL? Maybe something more xc geometry might be longer?
-
• #16147
Put wider bars and longer stem on it. That'll improve things.
XC will be even shorter. -
• #16148
What frame is it?
-
• #16149
Sounds like you need a BTR! or a Geometron.
-
• #16150
It’s a Fuji bighorn XL. Already has wide bars and a 100mm stem on it.
Maybe I’m just a freak and should stick to 62cm cross bikes!
BTR? geometron? Christ those are some ugly looking bikes! Had to google those urgh
To be fair, any riding at all is of the potential bone breaking variety.
Anyways, I may turn up to an Epping ride on a Gravbiek. Hope you won't shun me. I'll alternate it with the Bfe.
