Good point, swapping to a Spidering would be impossible without the lockring tool, and a massive PITA without a vice.

I do not have access to the relevant tool or bench vise, so I think that decides that - I had a quick look and the cost difference is over £100 if the tool is factored in as well.
I’ll have to abandon my dreams of the full spider ring look.

This is 'done' for now. Been riding it a lot lately and actually enjoying road riding for once. Changed everything but the wheels at this point. DA cranks and Evomax bars were the icing on the cake

I've got the tool, but no bench vise :(

Guess what? I got both. Mwahahahha.

I’m miles from London at the moment, so no chance I’d be able to get to either tool or vice at the moment!

• #12433
Damn. When did you get those cranks? Dibs

Today... sorrynotsorry for the filter.
Got some Praxis chainrings coming, some new bars to fit, and then to decide on some shallower wheels for windy days.

I'm looking at getting a bike with a Headshok once I get rid of the Caad10.
Has anyone serviced a fucked Headshok and got it back to working order? Presumably special tools are needed, so does any one have them? Or is there somewhere that will service it?
I'm totally expecting the same response from you @Howard

Never used it myself so I couldn't comment on its functionality. The No More SRAM Rule means I probably never will.

is there a cabled etAp ? i have to agree, nothing says 'gullible mamil' better than an etAp axs groupset... in comparison the original etap is shifting elegance incarnated ( albeit with 2 poking batteries)

Alternative BB - have one on my CAAD12, easy to install with £6 tool.

Bike looking hot and your garden

is there a cabled etAp ?
No. Not unless you count Di2/EPS. Or the vapourware FSA electronic groupset.

But cableless Etap is a thing of beauty.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I think the mechs looks bulky and the shifters look, for want of a better word, pimpley. And that's before you get to the unreliability and the fragile battery tabs on the mechs.

Still think @Super_Ted's bike looks hawt though...

Thanks. Looks good but no longer widely available.
Provided you'll never upgrade to a spider-based power meter, which wouldn't be compatible with option 2, I'd go for the Spiderings. Nice but pricey.
