sorry, again: A - EMCycles employee designation; 6 - seat tube height = 56cm (or exceptionally 66cm, measured as c-c); R = Reynolds 531; E080 - serial number (production early 1981); 18 - non-standard designation (E080 is the oldest R531 known to me, perhaps it is the 18 frame made of Reynolds - it's just a theory); the frame looks like a repainted, very unusual color. Do not use cadre.org - it is a waste of time.

P5 Z2622 - built in early 1985... During this period EMC built 3 models of road frames: 3-Athlete, Professional (SL or 531) in two varieties (early and late) and Pro (SLX or 753); in addition to this, the Chrono model is... On the basis of this photo you can exclude 3-Athlete, Professional early and Reynolds 531 tubes - the Professional late Columbus SL, Pro and Chrono are available; Chrono has a unique design and is easy to identify: a short head tube and a "lean forward" top tube, it is hard to miss :) If this is to be a Pro 753 then: the inside of all tubes is smooth (no "riflings"), serial numbers and REYNOLDS inscription will be stamped on the steering tube, the frame will be extremely light. If this is to be a Pro SLX then the interior of all 4 tubes visible through the BB cover will have "riflings". (at that time the X marking on BB cover was not yet used). If this is to be Professional then the "riflings" will only be inside the steering tube. Photos of brake bridge and seatstay cap would be useful. The frame has been repainted.

end of 1982 - beginning of 1983 50/50, I can't do it more precisely :) At that time EMC produced only one road model conventionally called Professional (it wasn't an official name!), but there was a variant of Aero - photos are welcome... To make it more funny since 1984 was produced Pro model (very official name) from SLX or R753 tubes, which is regularly mistaken for Corsa Extra (name introduced in 1986) and Grand Prix (name introduced in 1988).

Standard Professional, not Aero

Aero has flattened tubes (ST, DT, seat stays), the oldest have slope fork crown "De Rosa style" (since 1982 they already had the "EM logo"), another model of slides on top tube, shorter seat stay caps, down tube shifters on top... sometimes all these elements were used, more often - only some

I would like to identify my Eddy Merckx bike but throughout forums and online discussion, I couldn't find any clue as the serial number does not match anything found.
Serial number is apparently A0 - 930 see pictures attached
I'm pretty sure that the frame is a Corsa Extra, in Domex-Weinmann Team's colors.
If anyone would help me I would be happy to know more about it's history. The bike components are Campagnolo C-Records for most parts. I can give additional informations about the bike if needed.
Thanks in advance !

cool photos, it is not so comfortable on bikeforum :)
forget about Corsa Extra, it is Professional (Columbus SL/SP) from the end of 1980, later repainted (1989?) in Domex Weinmann colours
