Yeah, I've not worn anything tapered for a good few years now., maybe a tiny, tiny taper.
Warehouse DD-1001X's are my only jeans in rotation at the moment but I don't have much desire to wear them given I have way comfier trousers/shorts to lounge from my bedroom to my office in before I start work!
Not only will the ONIs be better made, but they just look so much nicer.

Only sold my other pair because of a growth spurt! (The middle age kind)

I would get the ONI and taper and chain stitch hem . It’s exactly what I’ve done with my iron hearts, it dismays me a great deal to have wide leg openings flapping around.

I'm embracing the flapping :)
As stated I already ordered the ONIs, just wondering whether anyone has tried the CC selvedge. -
• #3581
Do you do the work yourself? How do you deal with the selvage? Undo the stitching on the inside of the leg instead?

Found a picture. As slim as I'm gonna go below the knee:
Actually have much wider jeans than this, too, above and below the knee.

I sent them off to göteborg manufactur, haven’t got them back yet so fingers crossed they look alright. Yep they do it on the inside, you can only do a few cms or it will start getting uneven.

They look great. I am with you on wide above the knee, I’ve even embraced the high rise which has been a revelation. But I like tapered below the knee to a tighter leg opening. Fully aware I am making women’s jeans 😁

Keep us posted! I've got a pair of Hebtreco trousers that might need taking in a bit. There's a knife pocket on the side of the leg which complicates things. Gonna see if I can do it myself but it might be a job for someone with the right kit

göteborg manufactur Did a great job with the tapering and chain stitching the hem. Definitely recommend and would use them again 👍

Good to hear! Was it spendy?
-
• #3591
It was 450 kr plus 5er shipping back. I think that’s really good for the work involved.
-
• #3592
yeah that sounds fair to say the least.
Did some quick googling but couldn't get a straight answer. I assume hemming the inside requires a special sewing machine that does the folding and stitching in one go?
I've hemmed heaps of jeans but always on the outside (before my selvage days mind) and that's apparently not on according to google
-
• #3593
You mean tapering?
If you want to do it with a normal machine, you unstitch the outseam to get access to work on the inseam, them sew the outseam back together when done.
-
• #3594
This is what they said when I asked how to do it: we do it from the inside on the inseam using as simillar threads as possible, no the orginal but we have a selection to cover most colors. we redo the overlock on the inside and there is probably were the most difference is but only if you look closley
Some good explanations here: https://www.thedenimdoctor.co.uk/alterations-for-denim-jean-plain-selvedge/

Yes course. Lack of brain today.

• #3596
Okay, with a 9.25" leg opening like these 022 NIXX have, would you roll or hem them to length?
-
• #3597
I always roll denim, no matter the leg opening. But if they're at their stock length (36" ? ) I'd personally hem them so that I can still roll them. But that's just me.
-
• #3598
Eg these Warehouse’s were hemmed to 31” and were still double rolled. I should’ve had more chopped off but I wasn’t brave enough.

Thanks, fashion is hard.

Tbh, it's hard to tell what they look like on you because you didn't post a full leg shot. If they are 36" you definitely need to take something off, unless you're super tall. Even just a tiny roll is better than no roll IMO. Especially when you have nice selvedge.
Yeah they're gooders, you've taken to non-tapered too as I recall?
