Have a similar set but got from the US, not amazon.
Changed my life too and have become evangelical about decent spot weld removers.

I'm the twat that doesn't wear the gear, but wants people to learn and not be as stooopid as me.
I've been in medium to heavy engineering for 40yrs, my ears, knees and ankles are knackered. I know folk with missing limbs, senses and life through industrial accidents. I've become a safety bore.

Would not say a bore, I'd say sensible.
Sometimes I have contact dermatitis from automotive chemicals as rarely used gloves.

• #54132
That does look very good, I’ll try and get one

I've tried all the other varieties, i find the traditional drills don't last and go blunt very quickly, and the other cutters tend to shatter the tips off the cutter, even if you put a centre punch down first. That's the first reliable one i've had

Just don't. I mean it.

You would have done all the same kind of stuff with a Golf and you would have spent way more to buy the car in the first place.
Once you get out and use this, you'll realise the work was worth it. If not, fix all the little jobs and I might be tempted to buy it hah!

I find this with every 2nd hand car (and i'm sure it's worse for some people e.g @Dammit) but i always end up doing a mountain of jobs on them at first before you really start enjoying owning them.
-
• #54137
Yeah I think it's part of the ownership experience, especially on the kind of cars I enjoy. Those kinds of things are always worth doing if you actually like the car. Not so much if it's just something to get you from a-b.

I can't get to my car at the moment, it's in a business that is shut due to the current situation.

some progress on the mr2. inner sill a bit worse than expected and the repro outer doesn't fit that well, but the body shop told me they'll be able to hammer them into place..
-

Which MR2 is that?

The mk2 never sparked anything in me, loved the mk1's and still have a MK3...i think ;) Even though the MK2 kept the pop up lights and pop up lights are cool.
Those the mr2 ben sills?

AW is too boxy, ZZW is too bathtub for me.. i got this one as i don't like/get the t-tops either.. the thing that got to me apart from the layout, was the fact that i have a beams 3S lying around :) (although plans might be changing a bit)
yes, sills are from mr2ben

I want to do that to the grill on my XV, really don't like the chrome... Looks good...

Thanks. Amazing how de-chroming takes years off, only time will tell how it holds up in such a vulnerable place though.

Yeah I've wanted to go white on my white GTI diffuser but afraid it will look shitty. Found one picture once that looked good but I know it would turn out crappy
I look forward to going out for a pootle in it, is it gonna be Cat's first car? Or second? She's probably driving already, no?
