I live near Cheltenham and looking at that map the two areas with the highest number of cases also appear to be those with the highest population density. The racing shouldn't have gone ahead though and one of my work colleagues and his wife who live around there have both had Covid-19 (although that might be coincindental).

I live in the postcode GL50, that of the race course. The course actually sits right at the end, mostly surrounded by GL52 (the code with the highest count).

It’s not explained by density. GL50 is of the highest density. GL51 and 52 are higher in population but much larger overall. Stroud, Gloucester and Cirencester are all comparative and are not showing any concentration on that map.
GL52 is basically the north edge of Cheltenham, fields and three villages. For that area to get the most cases in Gloucestershire suggests a fair bit of transmission in area around the course, known for accommodating race goers in pubs, hotels and BnBs.
The (high) average age of residents probably doesn’t help.
There seems to be a concentration of hospitalised C-19 cases around the Cheltenham races as of April 3rd.

The Cotswolds (where most visitors stay) is badly effected relative to the average for Gloucestershire.
