  • I’ve been running the Pirelli Cinturato gravel M in 700x35 for a few weeks now and have been astonished by the grip they provide. I’ve ridden up and down stuff I never expected to be able to in complete control, braking and climbing grip just amazing and plenty in the corners. They don’t roll too badly on the road either (considering) - Only thing is I’ve realised 35 is a bit narrow for rocky off road stuff so going to get some 650b and run 650x45 on the grav biek once covid is over and hope are open.

Anyone looking For a grippy mixed surface tyre I 1000% recommend the Pirellis.

  • Only thing is I’ve realised 35 is a bit narrow for rocky off road stuff

I need more of this messaging to validate my choices please and thanks

  • Just bought a set for distance stuff hopefully in the future in 32 .

  • New Kenda 3-Sixty just launched. 26x2.25” tubeless ready, 583g. Look to be pretty fast rolling (design for dirt jump/pumptrack)...

  • Would love to hear more if you or @frankenbike decide to try this especially the real width. As they claims 47 but 1.75 should be around 44 right?

  • Can second that if it make you feel better about your choice

  • I bought them, they came up at 46.5mm on a 20mm internal. Not ridden them yet as I've ran out of tubeless sealant.

Edit: ah shit, I'm stupid and got mixed up - the above measurements are for WTB Sendero - hadn't had my coffee

  • Did you mean the maxxis?

  • Always assumed they used a similar machine to the rolling resistance one to test these things out but i guess you're right. Cheers for the recommendations, will look into them.
    : )

  • Out of interest which Vittorias are you using?
It's a pair of Rubinos that I'm looking to replace.

Although I read somewhere that new Rubinos have a much grippier compound.

  • Yes the maxxis, looking to replace the wtb horizons on my marin nicasio.

    No worries @frankenbike

  • Currently have the V2 Graphene corsas and the Graphene rubinos. I really like both of them, the rubinos feel harder but last better.

  • cheers man, good to know : )

  • Gravelking range is getting mad now. Frustratingly they've added larger 650b sizes to the sk model but 0 options for 650b in both the ext or ac models

  • What's the forum approved, budget friendly 700x tyres between 35-40mm commuter tyres, perhaps with tanwall tyres but that's just a luxery.

  • If planetx are still doing the sport contacts in 37mm for 7 quid or something, I’m not sure anything beats them?

I’ve been riding mine round London for a few months now and haven’t had a single puncture and they honestly feel kinda fast.

  • Voyager Hyper for a tenner here.

  • Those are just voyager, not hyper.

  • 'Budget friendly'

  • Ah, yeah. Soz.

  • Popped them on my girlfriends hybrid. Wired and heavy but seem to roll quite nicely for the price.

  • Running Vittoria Corsa in 25mm on the road bike, loving them - probably the nicest tyre I've ridden. However after a year or so they are starting to head on the way out, a few nicks and cuts in them and a few more flats...

What is the forum approved road tyre that's slightly more resilient than this, but still not completely sluggish? Ideally under £25ish a pop, gumwall preferred and 25mm - thanks! Had GP 4 Season on another bike, they are amazing but a bit pricey for me currently.

  • That looks like it'll do the trick. 37 or 42 though...
