Love the crown on that fork.

I can easily a fit a 38. Downtube clearance and toe overlap is going to be the issue though, its a fairly short wheelbase

Considering trying these brakes. mini v, something a bit different and shiny silver.

Don’t, the bead will not stay seated. Leave ghetto tubeless for wider rims and bigger tires.

I can always use latex tubes.

Silver!! Stronglight cranks not an option?
-
• #35
I was just reading about he stronglights, the impacts are only £45 on spa at the mo, going to get them as the arms are the same and I can always get some more rings when the stronglights wear out

We have a problem. One that I hadn't considered.
The canti boss spacing is old school and therefore very narrow. Around 60 mm. So don't think mini vs are going to fit.
Anyone got a suggestion on cantis that don't suck (impossible I know ) and work with old school narrow spacing

I've had 2 Gazelle Cross projects in the past. I found the old school canti boss spacing was a pain. I never completed them...

I will overcome!

I don't know anything about it, but the internet reckons these, with short spacers, might perhaps possibly may be (is that equivocal enough?) an answer.

the spa cranks are incredible value for money and you can have the most reliable BB that was ever made; un-55. Shame campag could never make good BBs.

I'm told Shimano CX50 and CX70 work well with narrow brake bosses.
I had R550s cantis which worked very well, I have a feeling my forks were narrow spacing too, so might be worth checking those out.

I don't think they still make cx70 s any more but I'm going to try the cx50s. As it happens I used to race on cx70s as they were the only decent canti I ever managed to find.

what about tektro CR720? they come in silver as well
-
• #44
ime only cx50s and cx70s will work with narrow canti bosses

So had some luck today. We had an old shagged mountain bike at work that had deore lx cantis. They seemed to work fine with v pads in.

I'm going to build it up with cantis for now, but I think I've come up with a way to make mini vs work. I've ordered a set and will test the theory once they are here.
Im other news, stem and post are on the way. As are 38 mm panaracer gravelking sks.

Very sick frame! That fork...
LX do look a bit skew-wiff, can confirm cx50 have options of spacers, inc superlong spacers to fit modern bosses, so work with narrow bosses by using the small spacers. Really great too (for cantis).

Hmm. Stroke of luck. A mate had a set of tektro mini vs that amazingly seem to fit if I bodge the pads and washers a bit. They are fugly though.
