1st run post covid last wednesday 5k in 21.33. Fastest time and I felt fine.
2nd run was last Saturday, 8.6k in 38.40 second. Lungs and chest was fine but calfs felt a little tight during the run but pushed past it etc.
Today I ran 10.5k , did that in 48.53 and I can barely walk!! Right quad is battered and calfs are so tender it hurts to walk. Shame when the body and cardiovascular fitness add up.
Just gonna stretch, massage and eat the next few days.
Are you doing any weight/strength training? A few weighted calf raises can actually do wonders for tight calves, improving their strength will make them much more able to deal with the stresses of constant movement in running. Same with quads. Many more types of exercises for those.
I think I over did it today.

Need to learn to pace myself.
