Not really.
In summary:
there will be an increase in number of cases and deaths associated with SARS-CoV-2 until there aren't.

BOOOO.
But does that not show a decrease? -

Only in hospital fatalities.
There's still non hospital deaths.
I'd look at the ONS page here

Just listening to Lancet weekly briefing on this - question over if this is down to behaviour or physiology. Probably the former.

What does he say? He's blocked me.

That one of the FT charts, while plotted correctly, was being interpreted poorly (low r-squared score being used to make the claim that there was is a "strong" relationship between timing of lockdown and number of deaths).

Right, thanks.

wait.. why did he block you?

I don't know, precisely. He's notoriously thin-skinned. I think I liked something someone said to him that he didn't like.

Has anyone got any info on this stuff about the source of the virus being some lab in Wuhan - preferably a sensible debunking! Obviously trying to be open minded when people bring up their own theories, but it sounds classic tinfoil hat to me. Especially considering all the other sources point to this food market (and many people had predicted these exotic food markets could be the source of a major pandemic).

It's the same old bollocks as HIV being man made.
-
• #172
Oh, I completely think it’s a bullshit theory. But just trying to equip myself with sufficient information to the contrary - in laws seem easily lead in these situations, lots of talk of “mainstream media” and how you have to keep an open mind about these things. Personally I’m not really giving it any credence, but providing decent information on the contrary seems to help me keep my sanity.

Edit: so I think part 3 of this series is roughly what you are looking for, but part 1 and part 2 provide informative background info.
That is exactly what I was after. Cheers!

The claim by Nobel laureate Luc Montagnier (discoverer of HIV) that SARS-CoV-2 genome contains inserted HIV sequences is based on a now-withdrawn preprint of a study that contained significant flaws in design and execution. The alleged “HIV insertions” identified by study authors are in fact gene sequences that can also be found in many other organisms besides HIV.
Is this good news yet? I'd like some good news.
