Was in an article I posted a couple of pages back, seems to be the case that countries everywhere are playing politics with keeping their declared care home deaths etc as low as possible. I saw an Italian mayor claim that death stats were double the official ones because of the way they had (or hadn't) been counted too.

Lockdown my arse
Ventured out to take some work stuff to the Post Office and get food. It's business as usual out there for swathes of people. Social distancing out the window too. Proper freaked me out to be honest. I can't understand why my wife and I are at home watching our careers ebb away in the name of the greater good while there are fencers, DIY shops, hairdressers etc all operating as if there's nothing happening at all?
I have a weird combination of anxiety, feeling we are all doomed and basic level jealousy as if I'm being mugged off. The message and enforcement is no where near clear enough.

Leyton's fabulous Leyton. They've dropped the queuing at the Tesco in Leytonstone too. Such a fucker! They were managing it really well but now it's a scramble.

I shall go back and read but since im not in the mood of getting off my high horse : ) i will say that im having a very hard time seeing this beeing done systematicly in sweden.
Its automated here afaik. Had a covid test possitive and die within the time frame u go on the list. They track our every visit with health care and what not via our "personal number" from birth.
They do not however test all deaths on healthcare homes. But dont think anyone does that?
Edit: sorry my bad i think i missread the first post i qouted from u.
and my objection was that if they tested possitive they would always be in the statistics but your post never mentioned testing just visit to the hospital. So yeah im sure a few cases of older ppl went home without a test and then died and never made it into the statistics. Had they had a test they would have tho.Our chief of health if u will talked a bit about testing in different countries and said he was sure that sweden would be amongst the top of the countries in regards to how many end up on the list of deaths from covid. He gave some examples but cant recall what they were tho.

Aren't police aren't shutting the shops / hairdressers?
Some communities are extremely difficult to reach with public health messages. Could that be a factor in Leyton?

What the fuck is this?

You know this is basically like arriving at a funeral in fancy dress because you feel like having a bit of a lol right? It’s about as funny as... oh I don’t know... people dying.

Recognize anything?
Yes. It was a display celebrating the NHS and Great Ormond Street Hospital, in the process of which they also used what is essentially the stock picture of what a virus under a microscope looks like. What exactly is your point?

Apparently not. Not enough.
And re communities - I don’t know. I can make an anecdotal stab at it based on my own accounts but honestly I don’t know.

Getting a bit heavy-handed, mate. Not quite subtle enough for a troll anymore.

On my way home from work I came through Hackney Downs and saw a group of around 10 guys having a drink, as if that weren't flaunting the rules enough... On the section through Walthamstow Marshes by Springfield park there were roughly 30 mothers plus children in a group so large that it was blocking the entire gravel road.
So I doubt that we'll be back to normal life in 3 weeks.

Back shortly. -

People now talking about stuff reopening from July to Oct and then a 2nd lockdown over the winter period. Not need to worry about the Covid as the economy will be about to die if that happens.

Two separate threads some bar groups I'm on, in regards to when they think they can reopen.
I've not seen anything online about it personally, seems mental tho.

What do you need - Shimano fitting? Might have some you can have.
I haven't been paying as much attention to the news over the last couple of weeks but perhaps they fucked it, yeah, and I put too much faith in the system/scientists involved. Or I overestimated their influence in the decisionmaking. I still don't think we will be able to say whether a given strategy was better or worse than another for at least a few months though.
I was wrong about exercise being banned immediately, that's clear at least. Though not for want of trying by some people I've seen out and about
