I recon it might work.
My secret to doing a sick fadez is to spray clear lacquer down first and fade the lightest colour onto that while it's still wet, You'll get a great gradient then. Definitely do a test card first though, so you know how much of a blend you want.
I've used this technique for a few years, worked well when we did a load of Le Creuset prototypes for a project, fading the orange into red.
You reckon they would fade well? One is a candy and the other is a flat colour right?
I’d be tempted to do a fairly basic masked transition from one to the other with a black outline. Maroon from the front. Couple of ‘escaping’ outlined maroon bits towards the back of the shell
