The power electronics in the headlight will dictate how much light you get out. Some will reach full brightness before you get above what a 1.5 Watt hub can output, some won't.

It all depends on which light you have and how fast you're going and all sorts of other fun things.

Prob just get a b+m eye or something fairly basic, just to be seen and have some notice of death holes in road, rear light one of the son look a like rack mounted types.
