I went with Makita for my cordless stuff (only got the basic combi drill and driver plus brished circular saw) because the blokes who did my kitchen about 5 years ago had pure Makita kit. I only buy it second hand.
the guys who did my windows earlier this year commented on it and said they switched from Makita to dewalt because the makita doesn't stand up to as much rough treatment.
that's about the extent of it.
