Had a rim braked Etap groupset so bought the rim braked Outeniqua with the insurance payout from when I was car doored. Was talking to JC about getting a disc braked bike but nothing came of it, bought the Mason for winter and wet weather riding, quite liked it, but when Fred was selling his Outeniqua disc I snapped it up.

Of all the millions of articles about what different countries were doing at what time, I thought this was one of the better ones--a comparison between Ireland and Britain:

I suppose it helps if, whatever his other failings, your prime minister is actually a doctor and not some uneducated idiot.

He’s been on mainstream news a few times. Novara media / news is his thing. He makes my skin crawl a bit.
Big yup to your third sentence. And he's not a journalist, despite his claims to be one, he has zero journalistic experience or training. Not that this has stopped him setting up a 'media' company. His LinkedIn also describes him as a 'communications specialist', despite having no experience in communications.
I can't get too upset at someone throwing a bin at a HSBC though.

They absolutely do have a difficult job, but let’s not pretend that situation was by any measure difficult. Someone videoing on their phone does not automatically equate to dicking about
My daughter is 9 months in to policing, the thing that has surprised her most is the continual videoing of her actions whatever they may be. Even sat in the car having a break or popping in to Greggs for a sandwich.
When stuff gets gets in to the public domain like that shown by Bastini, it sort of pleases me that it is still a rare thing, or we would be just continually bombarded by it.

That person happens to be a journalist
Owning a mobile 'phone and being a journalist are two different things.

Nope, he’s a journalist. https://michaelsegalov.com/

But does he own a mobile phone? For The Laws of the universe decree these are not compatible.

Nope, he’s a journalist. https://michaelsegalov.com/

And the old bill are? Just read that report;
Lord Justice Simon said it was clear from the witness statements of two senior police officers that the Byron incident was the "focus of their concern".
One had said, even if Mr Segalov was not involved, he "did not intervene or walk away" while the other said the fact he was there suggested he was "willing to engage in or with those who took direct action".
He observed, as a journalist should, and the police try and stitch him up because he didn't intervene or walk away. Bullshit.

Do you even know what point you’re making now?
First it was that “someone being a dick with a mobile needs to be fucked-off, sharpish”.
Then that he wasn’t a journalist.
Now the knowledge he won a high court case against the police in 2018?
Keep going I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

With a beef with the Police:
... apparently he was right before, seeing as he won that case.
In general, I really struggle to see what your point is supposed to be:
In that context, someone being a dick with a mobile needs to be fucked-off, sharpish
Why?
-
• #10590
Why?
Because, in the current environment, we require the Police to enforce the law / government guidance. That clearly requires them stopping loads of people doing things they don't want to be stopped doing. It can't be pleasant or rewarding work.
Having to do that while some dick with a mobile follows you around trying to make a few quid for themselves is frankly unnecessary. Just remember, he's not trying to protect your freedom, or your liberty, he's trying to make money.

I notice a distinct lack of an actual explanation in there. All that waffle to conclude that him filming the police is 'frankly unnecessary'?
So?
Many things are frankly unnecessary, including you sticking up for the police harrassing people for no reason. Doesn't mean it's illegal, is it?

Apologies for starting this

It's a public health issue that the police are required to enforce, not a public order one.
-
• #10596
We need a poll.
(Personally I think it's quite obvious the Police are being heavy handed. They regularly use intimidation and invent bollocks to try and stop people filming them, and the recent laws are a Godsend in that respect.)

Charitable acts will exist regardless of politics.
Acknowledgement (that need has arisen because of shitty government) has it’s place, but the repetition is boring and the timing is tacky.
TL:DR clap you fuckers. Don’t worry ... nobody thinks you’re clapping for Matt Hancock or Bojo.

The Rachael Paris section on today's mash report is pretty good.
No you’re right, all fair points. I was just being both cynical and facetious really.
