• Garmin 520 plus still a decent thing to buy in 2020? Worth extra £50 to go to a 530 (not sure if plus?).
520+ coming up cheaper from suppliers.
Needs to work with existing stuff, have both a garmin and a 3rd party brand hrm, cadence and wheel speed, think I have a genuine garmin cadence and hub sensor too but not been used for like 5 years.
Battery life not a big issue, doubt any road ride will be more than 4 to 6 hours

Edit, bought a 530, 520+ seemed like people of the internet hated it. Probably does way way more than I need it for, but a fancy gadget/carrot might temp me out onto the roads a bit more.

  • 530 is good.

If you do not need to zoom and pan around on maps much.

  • I'm a bike shop so ordered it trade, cheapest I've ever seen them (all of £40 less than regular), but would suggest when you see them for £220/230 online, those shops are either making negative £2 or they are making money buy they somehow don't pay uk vat.....
    Not here yet.
